Angry yum problem while installing vlc in RedHat FC4

Hello,
      First of all sorry for reposting the same message. I thought the earlier title and message wasnt the correct place for my question. Also, i am kind of a to linux.. so excuse me for such dumb or silly question. I didnt knew of any other way to help my self other than posting it here in the public forums.

I am having problem when installing VLC media player in my Linux box. For your information i am using RedHat Fedora Core 4 with the kernel which came as default with this version. I tried installing VLC or VideoLan from yum, but always got some errors. Following is the message which i got when using yum in my terminal:

[root@localhost downloads]# yum install vlc
Setting up Install Process

extras 100% |=========================| 1.1 kB 00:00

later i also tried in the following way

[root@localhost downloads]# yum install videolan

i dont understand where i am doing wrong. Following are the contents of my /etc/yum.conf

[main]
cachedir=/var/cache/yum
debuglevel=2
logfile=/var/log/yum.log
pkgpolicy=newest
distroverpkg=redhat-release
tolerant=1
exactarch=1
retries=20
obsoletes=1
gpgcheck=1

# PUT YOUR REPOS HERE OR IN separate files named file.repo
# in /etc/yum.repos.d
~

I even tried the following:

[root@localhost downloads]# yum search vlc
Searching Packages:

Please can you use dark colors in your post. Some of us have problems reading very light coloured text.

Anyway to ge back to your problem. The reason why you are getting those messages is because VLC is not in any of the official Fedora Core YUM repositories. I am sure if you configure YUM for the freshrpms repository you can install VLC.
