YUM making me crazy

I'm trying to set up a repository of FC3 but I keep getting the error below. From what I can find it's some sort of resolution error, although I can ping it and put the link in a browser and I can see all my rpm files. Any idea on what I should look at next?

I'm using yum-2.2.2-0.fc3 and createrepo-0.4.1-1.

Code:
Setting up Repos
http://myservername/yum/Fedora/Core/3/i386/base/repodata/repomd.xml:
[Errno 4] IOError: <urlopen error (-3, 'Temporary failure in name resolution')>
Trying other mirror.
Cannot open/read repomd.xml file for repository: base
failure: repodata/repomd.xml from base: [Errno 256] No more mirrors to try.
