yum configuration question - FC5
 

After a clean install of FC5 there is an issue with yum config. The issues relate to $releasever and $basearch. I believe $releasever is now correct with a symbolic link.

However $basearch is still not set. Where is this set? What is the correct contents for i386 FC5?

I have not tried a clean install (i did a yum upgrade) so I am not sure what to do. The webpage I usually go to for questions related to FC is Stanton-Finely.net. He has notes on setting up FC5, the yum section is <a href="http://stanton-finley.net/fedora_core_5_installation_notes.html#Yum">here.</a>
If you are only using the default repositories I do not know what would be wrong. If the first several lines of fedora-XXXX.repo look like

[core]
name=Fedora Core $releasever - $basearch
#baseurl=http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/$releasever/$basearch/os/
mirrorlist=http://fedora.redhat.com/download/mirrors/fedora-core-$releasever

or

[extras]
name=Fedora Extras $releasever - $basearch
#baseurl=http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/extras/$releasever/$basearch/
mirrorlist=http://fedora.redhat.com/download/mirrors/fedora-extras-$releasever

Someone on the Staton-Finely.net forum may be able to help, as they are all FC users.
