Are you running a pure repo package list or do you have some extra repos? This looks a lot like the extra repos are trying to update the system.

Try to disable them and upgrade again. Do you have priority set on these repos?

BINGO!!!!!
Code:
RHEL_7_Disc RHEL_7_x86_64_Disc disabled
---
base CentOS-$releasever Base enabled: 8,465
centosplus CentOS-7 - Plus disabled
contrib CentOS-7 - Contrib disabled
you can not mix the RHEL install with CentOS
the two are INCOMPATIBLE!!!!
made INCOMPATIBLE!!!! ON PURPOSE!!!!!

you can NOT use the cent updates on RHEL

if you are using RHEL you MUST!!!!! buy the REQUIRED SUPPORT CONTRACT!!!!!
-- there are NO if's and's or but's on this
you HAVE TO BUY THE LICENSE!!!!

or

migrate to CentOS

at this point
i would just make life much easier and install CentOS 7 from a CentOS dvd

this ALSO fully explains the VLC issues in
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...-a-4175542164/

Centos ( base/updtes) are DESIGNED to not be able to be used on RHEL

the rpm numbering is designed to be DIFFERENT
