Your recommendations for good Text-Based Web Browser
 

I currently have elinks, but it supports only about half of the websites.

Is such phenomenon same for all text browsers or are there any that supports more websites? What do you think is the best?

In 2011, the majority of sites are likely going to have serious issues or completely break on text-based browsers. I have never used on that worked on every site I tried, they all had issues.

But it seems the favorite text-mode browser right now is w3m, which does a decent job of rendering pages as close as possible to the original intent.

This is kind of a cross between links and a graphical browser. You may have better luck with this one.

The problem is that most web pages go beyond basic HTML, so its difficult to render on a text based screen. That and graphical web browsers get the most development.

You can starts links2 in graphical mode by running
# links2 -g

ELinks has the most advanced Javascript support (because it uses Mozilla's libraries to handle Javascript), so it probably actually does support more sites that any other text browser.
