Well, back in the Red Hat days, I used KDE instead of Gnome. Even on work systems. Then the KDE people made a radical change which put me on the search for a new DE. Landed on LXDE. So for a lot of years I ran LXDE on Fedora, then Cinnamon on Mint, back to LXDE on Ubuntu (when AMD Ryzen 1600 CPU was introduced). A couple years ago I decided to see the state of KDE and loaded the KDE desktop for kicks... Found it was now working mostly well. Had one pet peeve with the 'new improved' menu system. That was resolved when I found I could change it to the classic menu (much like Win7) and that was that. So very happy now running KUbuntu (22.04 LTS) on all my desktops and laptops except one. My development system is running KUbuntu 22.10 at the moment.
