Hi Everybody,
I feel like I have to apologize for even asking yet another Xine question, but this problem really confuses me.
I am using FC5 to try to play a DVD (encrypted commercial.) This worked fine with the 2.6.16-1.2080 kernel I was using. I just did a complete update with PUP. This updated dozens of programs and added a new kernel, 2.6.16-1.2096. Everything is fine (sound, etc.) except my previously working Xine and Mplayer will no longer play any DVD complaining of missing plugins. However, xine-check confirms they are all there with no errors. This is the results of xine-check:
Quote:
[ good ] found the player at /usr/bin/xine
[ good ] /usr/bin/xine is in your PATH
[ good ] found /usr/bin/xine-config in your PATH
[ good ] plugin directory /usr/lib64/xine/plugins/1.1.1 exists.
[ good ] found unknown plugin: xineplug_flac.so
[ good ] found input plugins
[ good ] found demux plugins
[ good ] found decoder plugins
[ good ] found video_out plugins
[ good ] found audio_out plugins
[ good ] skin directory /usr/share/xine/skins exists.
[ good ] found logo in /usr/share/xine/skins
[ good ] I even found some skins.
[ good ] /dev/cdrom points to /dev/hda
[ good ] /dev/dvd points to /dev/hda
[ good ] DMA is enabled for your DVD drive
[ good ] found xvinfo: X-Video Extension version 2.2
[ good ] your Xv extension supports YV12 overlays (improves MPEG performance)
[ good ] your Xv extension supports YUY2 overlays
[ good ] Xv ports: YUY2 YV12 UYVY I420 YUY2 YV12 UYVY I420

The one item that concerns me is the double link to /dev/hda. I doubt if this is the problem, but if anyone knows I would certainly appreciate your thoughts. I get the same errors when I try play an encrupted DVD that I did before I installed libdvdcess and libdvdread, which is installed in the proper places.
Any help very much appreciated.
Bob
