YaST2 / Yast - softwareinstallation - fail :(

Hey everybody ....

... after installing SuSE 9.0 recently I now got a problem installing rpm's via YaST:

I click the rpm to install, a new window opens and the package information is checked.
Then the window suddenly closes without any effects.

It's the same when I use YaST on the command line ...

I somewhere read, rpm --rebuild would help, unfortunately it did not.

Can anybody help me? Does anybody have a similar problem? Tell me ...

so long,

pürtsch

I don't use many RPMs other than the ones installed from CD during the initial setup, but I do recall getting some weird behavior from yast when attempting to do this in the past. All I can recommend is using the rpm command directly instead of going through Yast.

btw... rpm --rebuild is for creating installer RPMs out of source RPMs

thanx ...

I solved my problem in the meantime:
I had to deactivate my directory with rpm's as an install source in yast and everything went fine again ...
