yast not opening pages

hey all i'm always encountering problems :( but hopefully in the near future i'll be helping other ppl with linux :D
well here's the thing i was trying to update to kde 3.4.2 through yast so i went to the 'change source of installation' and i changed it to the directory and when i went to 'install and remove software' but it wont open, it loads and then as soon as the window opens it closes back by itself i tried it like 10 times, but other things are opening except for that page :(
does anyone know what could be he cause of that problem?? :(

suse 9.1
kernel 2.6.5
kde 3.2.1

thanks all

It was common bug on 9.1 You'll have to manually edit the server. OR PERHAPS UPDATE YOUR SYSTEM TO 9.3

would i be able to update it to 9.3 online or is it just by gettting the cds and stuff

FishBoy 08-10-2005 06:55 AM

well i just experimented around a bit and i found out that the 'install and remove' page doesn't open if i add a local direcotry to the 'change installation source' page other than that it opens just fine

oh and btw i didn't wanna open a new thread for that since we're asking about yast and stuff i just ran into a problem while trying to install something and it gave me an error saying:
Quote:

checking for KDE... configure: error:
in the prefix, you've chosen, are no KDE headers installed. This will fail.
So, check this please and use another prefix!
i dont understand what's wrong because all of my kde packages are installed right... i just checked in yast

You could make ftp install, by downloadind the ISO file. Secondly, it's recommended to have CD/DVD in case of repairing installed system. And finally you can make updates of current version (libraries and security patches) but upgrades from 9.1 to 9.3 are not supported.
