Yamaha OPL3SA2 sound card problem

Hi...

This is something I dont understand..In Red Hat and many other distros, the opl3sa2 driver is taken as it is..

In mandrake 10 I am surprised to see why it isnt accepting this driver....I use sndconfig to detect my soundcard....However, it displays

Cannot open /dev/audio

message....Is this an issue with Mandy ?? The same driver works perfect under RedHat, Knoppix, Fedora, PCQuest......The command

modprobe opl3sa2

loads the sound driver and automatically unloads it....

Pls suggest..

I am having the same issue. Has anyone got it working? I'm using the official Mandrake 10.0 CD Release, but the card is not identified properly and modprobing the device still does not make it work :-(
