Yahoo messenger not working in Fedora Core 2
I have Fedora Core 2 on my Celeron 1.8Ghz / 256MbRAM / 20GbHD laptop
I'm trying to completely switch from windoze altogather, but I cannot get yahoo messenger to work, i got it installed but when i enter my username and password and hit connect yahoo freezes and i have to kill its PID to close it. i used this version http://download.yahoo.com/dl/unix/li...3.0-1.i386.rpm I also tried one called gtkyahoo-0.18.2 but spat out some errors at the end of the make process: ./rcfile.y:282.5: syntax error, unexpected "|" ./rcfile.y:287.5: syntax error, unexpected "|" ./rcfile.y:292.5: syntax error, unexpected "|" ./rcfile.y:331.9: syntax error, unexpected "|" make[2]: *** [y.tab.h] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/ratty/gtkyahoo-0.18.2' make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/ratty/gtkyahoo-0.18.2' make: *** [all-recursive] Error 2 anybody have any ideas how to solve this? or maybe alternative yahoo clients? |
GAIM supports yahoo messenger, and I'm sure there are others. Search google and sourceforge.
