xzgv doesn't preview/display tga images

I started usting xzgv which is maybe the greatest and lightest picture viewer of all times. But as I installed it (version 0.8), I noticed that it fails reading tga images. They have primary importance as I work with video. Other software packages installed on my machine (Gimp, gqview etc.) do read them, so I guess the right libraries are installed.

As I click on a tga image, I just get this feedback on the console:
Code:
gdk_imlib ERROR: Cannot load image: xxxxxx.tga
All fallbacks failed.
Is something missing? I'm not using a config file.

My distro: gentoo 3.2004, kernel 2.6.10-gentoo-r5

Thanks for your help
gm
