Xwindow mode not found
 

I am trying to get a better resolution on my laptop. The reason why is because I have a widescreen laptop display. I generated the correct modelines for 1440x900 and 1280x800 and put them in the XF86Config-4 file. In the XF86Log, here's what it says:

Please help me to get it to work. I have the same problems with the nvidia drivers.

You've named then two diffrent things.

1440x900@60 -> 1440x900

The names don't match so there is no modeline called 1440x900.

Change:

Or change the mode line to 1440x900

I did what you said and it still didn't work, the log still says:

Does the vesa driver need to be configured?

Nevermind, I went back to see if the nvidia drivers would do a better job and like magic they did. I now have a 1440x900 rez! Thanks a lot!!!
