starlyptII LQ Newbie Registered: Feb 2011 Posts: 1 Rep:	xubuntu 12 precise pengolin.. (unable to open audio device.) running xubuntu precise pengolin, installed Freebirth. (favorite audio program) which worked with Ubuntu (lucid), 11.04 ..and old versions of ubuntu ( freebirth traditionally works with the debian variety. My question is thus. Is is pulse audio, should i be running a different audio server? what may be the issue? what is different between this distribution and earlier..? Thank you... Any info will help.
