xterm tabs and scrolling

Hi all,

I want to know if it is possible for xterm to have tabs, just like konsole in kde?
Also, is it possible to scroll line by line (just like Shift+Up/Shift+Down)?

I don't think it supports tabs since it's just a VT120/Textronix terminal emulator.

Did you read man xterm? There are some options related to scrolling mentioned.

hi,

Yes, scrolling is available in xterm, but it is done through either the mouse or though PgDn/PgUp.
I want to scroll line by line.

Look at your mouse settings, and set your mouse to scroll one line when you turn the scroll wheel.

Long time, I know, but I found this by chance and I feel like I have to tell what I did.
In a file called .XDefault (you can name it anything you like) I added these few lines:
Code:
*VT100.Translations: #override <Key>Prior: scroll-back(1,page) \n\
                          <Key>Next: scroll-forw(1,page) \n \
                          Shift<Key>Up: scroll-back(1,line) \n \
                          Shift<Key>Down: scroll-forw(1,line) \n
Then:
Code:
xrdb -merge .XDefault
This will make the following changes:
1- Shift+up scrolls up one line
2- Shift+down scroll down one line
3- PgUp scrolls up one page
4- PgDn scrolls down one page

I hope this will help.
