Is it possibe to increase the default system font size for xterm? The only information I can find relates to a local users. I want to increase the default font to something like: xterm -font 10x20

Yes, but are you using an Xterm, or something like Konsole or Gnome terminal? They have their own way of doing things, but it's just a matter of finding the right drop down menu.
