xterm and key shortcuts

Hi!

I'm using slackware linux 2.6.11 on xorg 6.8.1 @ Xfce4.2.

I like to use xterm but i also like console programs like i.e. mc. Now in MidnightCommander I used to operate with key shortcuts like Alt+Enter and other.. The problem is that xterm don't let me use these shortcuts.

I have searched www.google.com already but I cant find any solution. Could you please help me out?

I don't think it's xterm, but xfce - gnome-terminal clobbers F10 and such, but has a switch to turn it off. I don't think xterm (or the wrapper xfce uses) does that. So try xfce's keyboard settings.

Hm. Sorry then, I don't know. Alt-enter with mc in an xterm works for me on Slack and I don't recall doing anything special for the keys. You could try mc's 'learn keys' feature, but I somehow don't think that's it. Does it work in text mode? And are we talking pure xterm? Like I say, xfce has a shellscript wrapper over xterm to make 'xfterm4' or whatever it's called. Maybe look over that script. (I've removed xfce so I can't check.)
