Question Xscreensaver

I am setting up a machine to run a dedicated application when the machine boots up.

As of right now, everything is configured such that when the machine is booted the application is launched as "nobody".

I have been trying to setup the xscreensaver and configure it currently i have......

if [ -x /usr/X11R6/bin/xscreensaver ]; then
/usr/X11R6/bin/xscreensaver &
fi

This seems to launch but I cant seem to configure it.
1. I dont want to display the xscreensaver splash screen once it starts
2. I want to configure the timeout setting to be about 5 mins & i specifically want to set which screen saver is activated.

I am currently using Slackware 10.0 w/XScreenSaver 4.16?

Long story short,
How do i configure the xscreensaver as "nobody"?

Thanks

To remove the splash screen, use <xscreensaver -no-splash>. To alter the timeout and actual screensaver, add lines to your .Xdefaults or .xscreensaver file.

E.g. if using an .xscreensaver file,
Code:
timeout: 5
programs: flow \n qix\n
Otherwise, just use the xscreensaver-demo program to create your .xscreensaver defaults file.

Cheers,

mj
