Using xsane, on Mint 20 with an HP M477fnw via hplip, I am getting a "Failed to start scanner: Error during device I/O'error popup every time (or almost) that I scan a page in flatbed mode.
In fact, the scan works fine, but having to dismiss the popup each time really slows down my workflow.
The popup must be dismissed before the next page can be scanned.
Is there a way to suppress these popups? Alternatively, anyone seen this and know how to fix the issue?
I got this error 100% of the time here, tried a lot, and came down to a scanner fault. I have revisited it,but nothing that has happened here caused me to change that.
Do you get the same error with the document feeder? The flatbed requires an internal part to travel for scanning, but the document feeder does not require that part to travel.
It may be a failing part on the scanner, but only time and testing will tell. If the document actually scans in good form then you might live with it. If not then the AIO printer may need replaced (replacement cost new overrides attempted repairs where I am with my HP M277dw printer).

Ahh, interesting. Yes, it's only with the flatbed.
I just hate popup info windows as much as I hate popup web pages> Terrible UI design... but I guess I'll have to live with it.
