Xpdf
Hi folks,
I tried to download Xpdf from; ftp://ftp.foolabs.com/pub/xpdf/ and found; Code:
xpdf-3.01-linux.tar.gz What is the difference btw; xpdf-3.01-linux.tar.gz and xpdf-3.01.tar.gz Which of them shall I download. Also I could not find md5 files there but .sig Pleae advise. TIA B.R. satimis |
xpdf-3.01-linux.tar.gz is the binary and xpdf-3.01.tar.gz is the source code. If your distribution has an xpdf package, it would be MUCH best to install that instead. Otherwise, if you are not on a x86 (intel compatable) computer, you want the source code. If you do not know how to compile the source code and are unwilling to learn, you should get the binary. Other than that, it is really a matter of personal preference what to get. Note that if you download the binary, it will take a little copying and symlinking to install.
