XP killed lilo and i'm not sure how to get it back
So i had to reinstall XP on my Debian sid system. And as i expected it overwrote lilo with its own thing. I have delt with this before but this time i'm running in to issues. I have the debian install floppies and when i boot then i can get to a console. When i try to run /sbin/lilo (which i think will fix it) it gives me this error.
/lib/ld-linux.so.2 version 'GLIBC_PRIVATE' not found.... Is there a different disk or method that i need to do to fix this Thanks Ed |
"/lib/ld-linux.so.2 version 'GLIBC_PRIVATE' not found...."
Try: /sbin/ldconfig before you run lilo. |
Well i got it fixed and incase any one has thiis problem i'll post how i did it. I used the debian install disk and when it asked what i wanted to boot. I typed 'rescue root=/dev/hda3' then logged in as root and ran /sbin/lilo.
