Question xorg issue (forwading x over ssh)

Hello LQ community,

I am trying to install mythtv-backend on a Raspberry Pi 2; the software (including xorg) has installed yet I am being advised to run mythtv-setup yet I get following when trying to run this command:

ssh -X 192.168.1.2 --this logs in fine I then run mythtv-setup:

sudo mythtv-setup
X11 connection rejected because of wrong authentication.
mythtv-setup: cannot connect to X server localhost:10.0

How do I overcome this?

The raspberry Pi 2 is running Raspbian based on Debian Wheezy (all patched up)

The sudo is likely causing the problem. When you run xeyes, did you sudo it also?

Cannot you run the mythtv setup from the login user ID?

Thank you it does appear to have been the sudo putting it off; having mysql connectivity issues now but I have some config changes, I think, to allow remote connections and grant permissions etc for mythtv db user
