xorg.conf question
 

Hello,

There is something I never quite undestood about the xorg.conf file. When you buy a new monitor. The monitor specifies its optimum display size and frequency example (1280 x 1024) @ 75Hz. If you are using windows then it is pretty to set up your display to that configuration.

Now in xorg.conf, the frequency is broken down into 2 parts: HorizSync and VertRefresh. What are the frequencies to use for those parameters ? The monitor specs specified only one refresh frequency of 75 Hz.

the best thing i have found to do is look up the vert and horiz in the booklet that comes with most monitors or google the monitor model number. Its almost certainly out there.
