Xorg can't find a file, yet its there

get this error after updating xorg to 6.9. it claims it can't find the file libXau.so.6, yet its sitting right in /usr/X11R6/lib. I'm a bit confused why it can't find it.. its in the right place as far as I can tell. Any thoughts? I hope.

I even removed the symbolic link and tried just cp the real file into the right name. it still claims unable to load the file.

Can you give us the exact message that it prints out? That will help.

Solved the issue actually, sorry forgot to post back. The problem was the ld.so.conf file (I think that was the one) needed the line: /usr/X11R6/lib
added to it and all is well.

The error was basically what I said it was, xserver can't start because it can't find that file in /usr/X11R6/bin/X
