Xorg 6.8.2 resolution issue

Recently I figued out how to allow for the rotation of my monitor through the useage of one of the many xorg.conf options. Problem now is that now when I rotate my resolution doesn't adjust with it, so when I rotate left 90degrees my resolution is still 1280x1024 when I need it to be 1024x1280. I went through my xorg.conf file and made it so as that it only would use 1024x1280 as the resolution, but now it is automatically selecting my resolution. No matter what I do, what options I change in my xorg.conf file my resolution is always 1280x1024.
Please Please if anybody can suggest me a solution that would be most appreciated
