XMMS volume

I am running suse 9.2 with KDE.

The volume control in XMMS does not work. When I go into my soundcard options in SUSE Hardware Tool, the volume works fine. Any help?

In xmms do this:

Options --> Preferences --> Output Plugins --> Configure and select the "use software volume control".

Or you could choose to use "master volume" instead. However I prefer the software method.
