XMMS skips on some MP3s
This is just a small quirk that is buggin me with XMMS. Some of my MP3s skip horribly when being played in XMMS. At first I thought they were bad files, so I switched to my Windows XP partition and played them in Winamp and they sounded perfect.
Does anyone know what is going on? Thanks! |
I have only had this problem when I am running low on resources. Maybe you have too many things running at the same time, or you don't have enough RAM, or a slow processor.

Eh, I really don't think thats a problem... I have 256mb, and a 2.6GHZ processor. I checked with KDE system guard; my resources where fine. Its with the same files repeatively... for example:
Everytime I play Hatebreed - Prepare for War, It skips at the same spots everytime. But in Windows it plays perfectly fine. |
Try out another player, such as mp3blaster of mplayer and see if happens as well.

Okay, I just tried it with Noatun, and it did not skip. I really do not want to switch over and use Noatun, I don't really care for it. Is there any way I can fix XMMS or is there program that is better?
Thanks |
Try uninstall xmms and install again. Who knows....

Fixed? not exactly
I didn't actually fix my problem... I just well, switched players. I found something called Amarok, its an awesome player, and NONE of my mp3s skipped either! I also found that for some reason it was reading my ID3 tags better too. I have no clue! Anyways, check it out if you want.
