xmms problems

I tried to install avi-xmms to play wma files under xmms. I thought I followed all the instructions correctly but after building the libraries xmms won't work. I just want to get xmms working again. I tried deleting the libraries from /usr/lib/xmms/Input but still nothing. I tried uninstalling the all the xmms packages and reinstalling them, still didn't work. I really don't care that much about wma support I just want my xmms back and I don't have the slightest clue how to go about this. Please help!

If you stil have the avi-xmms code, go to its directory and look if "make uninstall" works. After uninstalling it, you should be able to compile working xmms or install from RPMs.

You may have to update your database as well. Open up a console after making the changes:
ldconfig &&(LDCONFIG lowercase)
