xmms player and slackware 8.0


i found xmms player in my package manager, how do i get it on the desktop. don,t understand why it,s not in the kde menu?

Slack doesn't put it in the KDE menus by default, but you can still add it. Or if you want, just click the 'K' start button and then run program, type xmms and you're golden.

got xmms , that was easy enough i quess. on learning slackware, should i purchase there book or is there an alternative suggestion. thanks

An easier way is to add it to your desktop by right clicking and Add-New->Shortcut to application. And then you can drag the icon to the panel if you'd like or keep it on the desktop. KDE3 has this option to automatically add programs to the menu, its very nice.
