[SOLVED] XMMS, Music playback, seamless track transitions
UPDATE: This problem can be solved using the "xmms-crossfade" plugin for XMMS. It's "gap kill" feature is what does the trick.
I have a lot of mix cd's that I ripped to Ogg Vorbis. I love XMMS but when I play the tracks in order there is a slight (less then a second) of silence.
My goal is to find a plugin / setting for XMMS to seamlessly play tracks with no audioable gap inbetween, of any length. The album on the computer should play just like the original audio cd.
Any ideas? I know it's out there.

hi,
I don't if it'll work but you can try :
Right-click anywhere on the player : Options>Preferences>Options (small tab)
there you'll see : pause between songs ___ seconds. Set it to 0 and see if it works
Hope that helps

If I'm not mistaken in original CD tracks also have pauses in between them. As well when you rip them, recording application creates CDtext which loads with each track. It tackes about, hmmm..., nanosecond to load. And if you're bothered by these pauses you can easily solve it by editing tracks on Audacity

Thats definitely not the right solution here. My Vorbis collection is 300+ gigs. The original CD audio *can* have seamless transitions by using the 'disc-at-once' option while burning (i think thats the right option).
Winamp seamlessly advances to the next track. Something to do with buffering the next track.
