xmms file names
 

A friend of mine sent me some mp3's and they where just named track 1 track 2 etc

My problem is that even though i have remaned the files to the correct artist and title, when i open my play list in xmms,........xmms still displays them as track 1 track 2 etc, even though ive renamed them ?

did i do something wrong, can this be fixed ?

The most likely thing is that your friend also
didn't bother to put the correct artist and title
into the mp3 ID tags which your xmms seems
to evaluate.

The quick solution would be to tell xmms
(look in the preferences NOT to load ID3 tags).

The better solution would be to press <Ctrl>-3
(display file info) and edit the tag :)

Thanx but ive already tried that, "editing the id3 tags" but xmms playlist still shows it as track 1 2 etc ??

any more suggestions would be welcomed

do the id3 tags save? And do you load id3v1? Try changing, what is it, id3v2 tags?
