Hi, I have a problem with the xmms equalizer on Mandrake 10. Any changes I make in the equalizer make no difference to the sound. I have changed none of the settings so it is basically a default xmms install. I am using OSS version 1.2.9.
did you click the "on" button on the equilizer after making the changes? if that's not the solution, it sounds like it might be a problem with the sound driver. in that case, just download the appropriate one for your card and try again.
Yes I did click the on button on the equalizer. The sound is onboard and based on an Intel chipset. It is recognized correctly by Linux and is otherwise working without problems. Maybe I should try using ALSA instead of OSS.
yeah, try messing around with the sound configuration. does it recognize it as the exact sound device? or does it recognize a generic onboard sound device for the intel chipset? you might want to try searching for a driver for your specific device.
