XMMS doesn't want a new skin

XMMS is really pissing me off

I spent all afternoon today setting up ALSA
(which was quite a bitch), then I installed
xmms-1.2.7-8, which (with some additional
input and output plugins) worked eventually.
One thing eludes me still though...

I put some skins in /usr/X11R6/share/xmms/Skins/

When I hit 'Skin selection' a window pops up in
which I can see the skins, I double-click on one
of them and nothing happens... ?! #$^^%$**&

The only thing that changes is that a line

skin=/usr/X11R6/share/xmms/Skins/vibrocentric1-0.zip

appears in the file ~/.xmms/config. Other than
that, no error msgs, nothing. A simple, blatant
refusal without further explanation.

Usually this means that unzip is not available to
xmms to unzip the zip-archive for the skin, right?
unzip is installed in /usr/bin, PATH includes
/usr/bin. Moreover, if I unzip the archive by hand
xmms sees it, but again, if I double-click the
skin, NADA!

Why-o-why is this happening?

BTW: I'm using RedHat8.0 Workstation installation
with KDE 3.0. Could it be that some Gnome-thingy
is missing?

One of the culprits I would check would be file permissions to that directory... maybe. Sounds definately weird to me.

Cheers,

Ahhhhh.... no. The culprit was me actually, for being utterly stupid. I solved the problem (and got a little smarter in the process).
Thanks for the answer though

I'll post the solution this evening when I get home.
