Xmms crashes X-server with ä, ü, etc

Hello,

A few weeks ago I reinstalled mdk10.1. Ever since I have a strange problem.
At the second I load a file in the xmms playlist, the x-server crashes if the filename contains an accented character, such as ü, ä, è etc.
I've never had this before and I am puzzled what the reason of this behavior can be.
If anyone knows the reason please let me know.

Kind regards,

Sjonnie

Are the files that contain these characters on a FAT partition? If so you could try adding 'utf8' to the mount options.

Not really. I have no fat or any win partitions, everything is on a reiser fs.
