Xmanager Login with root

Dear All
I am not able to login to my CentOS 5, using root.
I am able to login with any other user account.

How to enable root login?

Hi.In Console Mode are you able to login through username:Root and related your Password.I want to know that whether is login problem or Xorg problem.

Probably a setting for your diplay manager. It's nowadays quite normal not to allow root login in X (for security). Assuming your using gdm, check gdm.conf.

Is there a great need to login as root? It is disabled or at least made difficult for a reason.

First of all its not console login. Its from X11
Secondly, I don't have gdm.conf file
Thirdly, yes it is required to login via root

Any help?

ok I got it

Login to your CentOS, Click System->Administration->Login Screen
It will open a window
Click security tab and Check "Allow remote system administration login"

If you're using command line, I think you've to modify /usr/share/config/kdm/kdmrc
find the lines with "AllowRootLogin"
and set it true if its not "AllowRootLogin=ture"

Solved for me
