XINE Troubles
I'm havinf some troubles with xine. I'm funning fedora core 6 and when I start up xine I get teh following error:
-xine engin erroe- There is no demuxer plugin availible to handle 'file:/usr/share/xine/skins/xine-ui_logo.mpv'. Usually this means that the file format wasnot recognized I have installed the esential codec pac and set xine to teh correct path to it. But it still rufes to play anything. I tjust comes up with similar errors. I have also tried reinstalling xine which did not help.... thanx in advanc for all help |
I don't use fedora any more, haven't in a while, but I did some digging around and found this....you might want to try it. http://stanton-finley.net/fedora_cor...otes.html#Xine
These next two seem a bit dated, but they might be worth checking out. http://cambuca.ldhs.cetuc.puc-rio.br/xine/ http://members.porchlight.ca/charm/dvd/t1.html And the same problem has been covered here before....but with other distros.... http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d.php?t=187014 Does yum have alternate repositories to use with "patented" software ? You might want to install xine from a different repository. Best of luck... David |
ok I managed to fix it, it turned out I had to install the xine-lib-extras package. And yes ferora does have a repitory for "patented" software. I'm assuming you mean things like the nvidia drivers. The repitory is called livna.
