xine sound playback issue

An odd thing happens when I'm watching movies in xine, that being, the sound playback quality is... oscillating.

I can hear sound just fine, and, through other applications (e.g. Xmms) sound does not exhibit the same symptoms. Also, xine does not do this for all movies. I believe it has something to do with the AC3 sound codec. I have this codec installed, or at least, I think I do.

Here is a directory listing of my codecs:

Code:
[frozen@FRoZiX /usr/lib/win32]$ ls
CLRVIDDC.DLL drv2.so.6.0 mpg4ds32.ax ubv263d+.ax

ddnt.so.6.0 lhacm.acm sipr.so.6.0 wmv8ds32.ax
divx.dll m3jp2k32.dll sp5x_32.dll wmv9dmod.dll
divx_c32.ax m3jpeg32.dll tm20dec.ax wmvdmod.dll
divxa32.acm m3jpegdec.ax tokf.so.6.0 wmvds32.ax

divxdec.ax mcmjpg32.dll tsccvid.dll
dnet.so.6.0 mpg4c32.dll tssoft32.acm
What happens is, the sound has a rhythmic fluxuation, almost as though the sound itself is vibrating.

I haven't found a solution to this in the several months that I've endured it. I'm hoping someone else has an idea.

Thanks.
