Xine, sound but no image. Help.
Hi,
Yesterday I was going to watch another movie on my computer. But, everything seemed to turn out not that way. Indeed, I just watched movies without any problems using Xine under my mandrake 9.1 up till yesterday. For some unknown reason, it can't play any movie anymore. It just don't show any picture but only plays the sound. Even the other movies I watched before don't work anymore. Coming from the windows world, I thought reinstalling xine would do the trick but the problem persists. One of my friends has just got the same problem and there doesn't seem to be any solution exept reinstalling my operating system. Does anyone out there has got the same problem ? Some screens just stay black, other turn blue.
Please, help me.

Try a descent player as mplayer. It's also in your Mandrake's CDs. If you've got the same problems with mplayer, that peoples that, somehow, your codes where either moved or deleted. If you find problems installing mplayer, use this forum search button, it's full of info about mplayer
Good luck

Lol... I've searched for mplayer on my distro, installed it and opened my movies with it. Guess what, they all run so smootly, fine and with an image and sound togheter... man... I didn't know mplayer was a player of such high quality. Nevertheless, thanks a lot for the hint. Xine is really not worth mplayer eventhough there is work in progress. Cya everybody.
