Having a small problem with video playback... I'm using Mandrake 9.1 on a Dell laptop. When I try to play back video files (specifically .wmv Windows media files) I hear sound, but the output is just a blue box, nothing more. Should I try mplayer, or does this sound to anyone like a configuration problem on my system? Any assistance is greatly appreciated...
Yeah, had a feeling it could be a codec issue... I haven't tried any other video file formats as of yet. I'm going to install mplayer and give that a shot too...
I have both, mplayer and xine installed. Today I was watching a movie, I closed MPlayer, and opened it again. Then there was just the blue screen. Same thing with Xine.
Its kinda not cool? Anyone got any tips? Its not a codec problem since it has worked fine just until a couple of minutes ago. And I haven't changed a single setting, it just happened.
