xine not playing DVDs

I am trying to play a dvd that i created in xine .. but it will not play. First off the DVD was made using wine DVD Shrink re-author. The source came from two DVDs. So i backed up two DVDs shrinking them down to one. I then made a simple menu for the DVDs. I still haven't found a menu maker program for Linux that i like. I used to use SVCD2DVD in windows using dummy video files to create the dummy DVD and then i would copy the VIDEO_TS.* files into my DVD Shrink re-authored DVD folder. (i liked this because (1) it worked and (2) made the dummy DVD with the same DVD structure.)

Well, after i have made my DVD folder i test it with xine:
$ xine dvd://<tmpDVDfolder>

xine opens up fine goes right to the menu and i can play both movies fine when clicking on either button.

Next, I burned the DVD folder. No problems there. DVD plays fine on a standalone. But, when I try to play the DVD in xine and click the DVD tab i get two error boxes:

Box1:
Code:
There is no input plugin availible to handle 'dvd:/'.
Maybe MRL syntax is wrong or file/stream source
doesn't exist.
Box2:
Code:
The source can't be read.
Maybe you dont't have enough rights for this, or source
doesn't contain data (e.g. no disc in drive). (/dev/dvd)
Console says:
Code:
This is xine (X11 gui) - a free video player v0.99.3.
(c) 2000-2004 The xine Team.
libdvdread: Using libdvdcss version 1.2.9 for DVD access
libdvdnav:DVDOpenFileUDF:UDFFindFile /VIDEO_TS/VIDEO_TS.IFO failed
libdvdnav:DVDOpenFileUDF:UDFFindFile /VIDEO_TS/VIDEO_TS.BUP failed
libdvdread: Can't open file VIDEO_TS.IFO.

libdvdread: Can't open file VIDEO_TS.IFO.
in /dev the dvd points to hdc and when i put the dvd in it gets mounted to /mnt/cdrom

When i played a comercial DVD in xine it took a while to start but it started up and went directly to the main movie skipping the menus, but i using the navigator i clicked the root button and it went to the menus and i was able to navigate around.

some settings in xine:
Code:
device used for DVD playback: /dev/dvd
raw device set up for DVD access: /devr/dvd
read-ahead caching: unchecked
CSS decryption method: disc
file browsing start location: /mnt/cdrom/
The DVDs i burn at least play in a standalone player. But i would like to get them running on on the computer so i can watch some movies while i'm doing some work. Thanks for any help. And feel free to point me in the right direction of a nice DVD menu program for linux.
