let me take back the last part about knowing if they're conflicting. I can see when it loads up on the bottom left that it's the new one that I just installed loading up - I see it says CVS.

did you install the win32 codecs from xine nightly builds. You may also need to point xine to the win32 codec folder by starting Xine -> setup -> gui and change configuration level to "advanced". Once thats done go to "codec" and make sure "path to win 32 codecs" is /usr/lib/win32.

don't have a codec tab. Just

gui, audio, video, dxr3, input, decoder, misc, vcd

when I set to "advanced" in the gui and click apply

decoder tab says: no configuration at this user level

when I set to "Master of the known universe" -> decoder tab says:
priority for mpeg2 decoder: right now priority is 0

your decoder setting is the same as mine. I wonder why you don't have a codec tab though .

perhaps that's the whole problem. It can't find the codecs because it's missing that part of the program.

well, this IS based off of a RPM of a cvs....could that be why?

you could be right. try downloading todays build and then delete your .xine directory from your home directory then install the new version. make sure you download libxine and xine-ui.
