ximian/gnome installation troubles

This is my first foray into linux. I'm using SuSe Pro 9.0

I went to the novell website and used wget to get the installer, which supposedly installed Ximian Desktop 2 on my computer. It downloaded stuff, looks like it installed itself, saying it was successfully installed. Nothing has changed.

I'm considering going back and reintalling linux, since I don't have anything important, but I'd like to see if I can get into ximian without doing that.

Have you tried running it from the command line? (probably, since you used wget, but I just have to make sure.)

Turns out, the installer was just lagging quite a bit.
