Ximian Evolution Backup and Restore Q

I just recently installed a new distro, going from Fedora Core to Mandrake 9.2. In preparation, I backed up my /home/username directory to another machine. I want to restore my mail files and my address book, but don't know which sub directories to grab, and then how to re-import these into evolution.

If you're reading this and familiar with NT, it would be like trying to associate your old .pst and .pab files.

Yes, I'm a recent convert from "the Dark Side", and glad to be here I might add.

Thanks,

Simply copy "/home/<user_name>/evolution/" from your backup and copy them to your new home . If you have the same usernames in both the plcaes, you cna launch evolution and it would pick up all the settings. However if you have different user names, then you will have to run "chown -c -R <new_user_name>:<new_user_name> evolution/" before running evolution.

Thanks for the reply. Is there a way to 'import' rather than replace the files, as I've already started using Evolution on the new build? I guess what I am trying to do is to append the subdirectories and posts that I had previously saved.

Thanks,

Rob
