Ximian Evolution and SuSe Linux 8.1 and PDA
 

Hello!

I know it is near to write this qustions only in the ditribution context but i try it in this!

I would like to make Ximian Evolution to update my PDA so i learned that this should be possible with the new version.

I use SuSe Linux 8.1 and so i have Version 1.0.8 of Evolution which does not support that.

I searched at the Internetpage of Ximiam but all i found was at:

http://www.ximian.com/products/evolution/download.html

They say you can use the red carped but i don `t like that idea !
I would like to use the ftp at:

ftp://ftp.tu-chemnitz.de/ftp-home/pu.../suse-81-i386/

but the are planty of files and i don`t know which i need.

Perhaps someone can tell me!

Or the second plan was do download the new rpm form:

ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/8.2/suse/src/

[FILE] evolution-1.2.3-42.src.rpm . . . Apr 18 09:10 13793k

But does it work to download the rpm for Suse 8.2 and install it under 8.1 ?

Very likely the Suse linux 8.2 rpms won't work under 8.1 :-(

I think you should try apt for SuSE but it seems the idea is similar with red carpet:

Else, try compiling the package from the source ;-)
