Ximian Desktop 2 SUX!

Sorry for the rude title but I just got XD2 it looks great but... I want to get rid of it and go back to basic RH9. It wont let me log in as root anymore, the desktop crashes when i try to log in as root. Does anyone know how i go about uninstalling the desktop and going back to regular kde or gnome? theres no help on the website and im stuck.

Can you log into the system as root (command line)? Did you install XD2 from an installation script? Was their an uninstall script?
