xhost for M$ clients?
Is there a way to run a m$ clients graphical applications on a linux or BSD server?
and is there a ssh_config for inetd.conf on m$? I can telnet from win clients and ssh with 3rd party apps to a linux server but ive never been able to get into a windows box from linux/unix (other than smb). thanks |
I don't think there is anything like that. X forwarding depends on an X server running on both the ssh client and server machines. Windows can't forward it's info. As far as I know windows doesn't run in the same manner as X, e.g. X connects to display localhost:0.0 or somewhere.else.foo:1.0. Windows can only run one display at a time. You can ssh to a windows machine (NT based) running cygwin+openssh.

thank you.

Windows is not unix, so simple things like sharing displays, running ssh servers, and the like are not easy (sometimes not possible) to do. Whereas on a linux box, most of everything you need is installed by default, you have to buy the software for windows and install it yourself. I guess I would start with google.com to find windows software, but other than that I don't have a clue where to get such things. . .

could always run rdesktop if you have a win2k or xp box and bring up a remote desktop.
