Xgl key bindings no longer working

Hi,

I'm currently using Ubuntu 6.06. I've been having this really strange problem ever since I updated compiz a few weeks ago. I have Xgl and compiz both installed fine, and it was working flawlessly until I updated compiz. When I did, my shortcut keys for rotating the desktop, moving windows, and pretty much anything else related to that do completely nothing. When I restart X and log in normally without running compiz, I get the same exact problem. I've tried reinstalling compiz and looking in gconf-editor to see if the key bindings got changed or messed up, but they haven't. My friend, who knows about Linux a LOT more than I, also has no idea what's causing this. I don't really want to reinstall Ubuntu all over again, so help would be really appreciated.

Yet again I am bumping this. I'm sure at least a FEW people who have viewed this could have thought of something.

I have the same problem... all works till 0.0.13-0quinn22 of compiz then only very few settings made with gconf-editor have effect, and the shortcut settings are not in the working group.

Anyone have an idea on how solve this problem?

Ok, solved!
Seem to be a problem with the gconf setting. Personally I've deleted the .gconf and .gconfd directory from my home and from "root" home and restart Compiz.
All non-working setting is recreated automatically with the default value. The working settings is preserved.

This is how I solved but personally I don't use gconf other than for Compiz; if you use gconf settings for other apps and you don't want to lost your settings I don't know how to solve.
