Exclamation [SOLVED] XGL - Intel 945G - Macbook - Video Overlay, non existent on openSUSE?

Ok, I had Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon on my macbook for about 3 weeks... but i couldn't live without KDE, and other stuff that openSUSE 10.3 offers...

So I decided to install Compiz-Fusion, everything works great, apart from Video playback in Kaffeine (and others)... Although I am presented with a list of different Video Drivers in XINE, I am only able to select XV or xshm, now xshm works to an extent, but it's full software rendering, and looks about as good as youtube in full screen! (not good!)

XV is weird, when XGL is running, it jumps backwards as well as forwards, and is glitchy! (like a badly tuned DVB system!)...

On Ubuntu, there was no problem with XGL as it was hardware rendered (you could see blue screen when moving the desktop cube around on Compiz!), but on openSUSE, the video moves with the cube, suggesting software rendering!

How can I get hardware rendering on my system? here is my (battered) xorg.conf:

I've tried every trick in the book so far, maybe my only option is to go a Ubuntu live disc and see what its xorg says...

Anyone know what to do? I've tried both the i810 and the Intel driver!

ok, this is where it gets odd... I load Ubuntu (from Live CD) and the Overlay STILL works... but when I copy the xorg.conf to openSUSE, it doesn't!!!

Here is the Ubuntu one anyway:

Code:
# xorg.conf (xorg X Window System server configuration file)
#
# This file was generated by dexconf, the Debian X Configuration tool, using
# values from the debconf database.
#
# Edit this file with caution, and see the xorg.conf manual page.
# (Type "man xorg.conf" at the shell prompt.)
#
# This file is automatically updated on xserver-xorg package upgrades *only*
# if it has not been modified since the last upgrade of the xserver-xorg
# package.
#
# If you have edited this file but would like it to be automatically updated
# again, run the following command:
#   sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg

ok, solution: Disable XGL

Code:
# gnome-xgl-switch --disable-xgl
enable AIGLX:
(xorg.conf now looks like this

and finally run compiz with this script (on kde)
Code:
#!/bin/bash

sleep 10s
LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT=1 INTEL_BATCH=1 compiz --replace --indirect-rendering --sm-disable --ignore-desktop-hints ccp &
the sleep command gives other applications time to load
