Hi,
I'm using openSUSE 10.1 RC3 and I'm trying to get Xgl working right. I've followed
Novell's instructions for setting up Xgl and Compiz. Almost everything works great, and I'm seriously impressed. However, I have two monitors plugged into my NVIDIA Geforce4 Ti 4200, and Xinerama isn't quite working right. For example, when I try to maximise a window, it fills both monitors although it should only fill one. Also, new windows ofter appear in between both monitors.....very annoying.
If you have dual monitors and have tried using Xgl, then you know what I'm talking about.
I've done some Googling, and apparently Compiz doesnt (yet) know how to handle dual monitors correctly.
However, someone has
created a patch/hack for Xgl (instead of Compiz) that
seems to fix alot of the problems.
So now I'm trying to patch my version of Xgl too. And here's where I'm having trouble.
You can get the Xgl source RPM
here. I've been using xgl-cvs_060430-3.src.rpm. (what's the difference between xgl-cvs_060430-3.src.rpm and xgl-cvs_060430-4.src.rpm??)
I've successfully patched the source and installed the new Xgl. However, I get this error when starting the patched Xgl:
Code:
dlopen: /usr/X11R6/lib64/xorg/modules/xgl/libxglx.so: undefined symbol: XineramaIsActive
What's the problem? Why isn't the patched Xgl starting?
Blessings upon anyone that can enlighten me.
