Question XFree86 driver(_drv.o)

recently ,i have some trouble in XFree86 drivers.
a mouse driver for example.
1) in the /etc/X11/XF86Config.
we can VI:
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Mouse0"
Driver "mouse" ///////// care
Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2"
Option "Device" "/dev/psaux"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
Option "Emulate3Buttons" "no"
EndSection

2) we can find a driver called mouse_drv.o by the path:/usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/input

3) question: obviously, the mouse_drv.o drivered the mouse called "Mouse0";but how could they matched?

ths very much .

ps: is there any develop tools for making *_drv.o .

Quote:
Section "ServerLayout"
Identifier "layout1"
Screen 0 "Screen0" 0 0
InputDevice "Keyboard1" "CoreKeyboard"
InputDevice "Mouse1" "CorePointer"
EndSection
"Mouse1" or something like that is noting but a random identifier,
to be repeated in "ServerLayout" . (In some distro's the name is
"Configured Mouse")

The mouse driver in /usr/lib/xorg/modules/input contains drivers
for the most known mice. (AFAIK)

In old linux ?? the config file is /etc/X11/XF86Config, new = xorg.conf
Which linux "distro name" "version" are you using ??

Quote:
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Mouse1"
Driver "mouse"
Option "Protocol" "ExplorerPS/2"
Option "Device" "/dev/psaux"
EndSection
"ExplorerPS/2" is valid for most mice. Which mouse ???

Rgds

PS The "Quotes" are just examples from one of my xorg.conf

"mouse" contains drivers for all common mice.
The only thing usually to change is : Option "Protocol"

More info only possible, if you describe your mouse :
Type number etc.. Wheel mouse ?? 3 buttons ??
And what is your problem ??

Redhat 9 is obsolete and unsupported (have been for years)
Suggest : Use Fedora 8 (or 9) "Redhat free desktop versions" 2007-2008.
